Famous for their designer knitwear, the Missoni fashion company was founded in 1952 by Rosita and Ottavio Missoni. Their first workshop in Milan produced tracksuits, but soon turned to making knitwear. Angela Missoni, who inherited the company from her parents, is now Missoni's creative director, while her brothers Luca and Vittorio are predominantly concerned with managing their successful business. In October 2006, Angela Missoni was among the women honoured with the Glamour Women of the Year Award from Glamour USA magazine in New York.
